ATM Interface Up and Down

Hello,

I configured my router 2621XM with WIC-1ADSL Card as a PPPOE client. It worked fine for about 1 week. But now it does not work. The problem is that the ATM interface is up and down again and again as shown below. Following is the config:

end

Note: The line and configuratoin still keeping the same as it works before. DSLAM is HUAWEI MA5100.

I am not sure why it causes the problem weirdly.

Any feedback or reply would be appreciated.

Re: ATM Interface Up and Down

Could you post the contents of the

show controllers atm mod/slot command here? The counters contained therein would provide a better clue with respect to why the link might be flapping

Also, in case you havent already, check for the physical layer alarms using the LED's

Hello,

Thanks for your reply.

ras-01-sr#sh int

ATM0/0 is down, line protocol is down

VC Auto Creation Disabled.

VC idle disconnect time: 300 seconds

Last input never, output 00:29:31, output hang never

ast clearing of "show interface" counters never Input queue: 0/75/0/0 (size/max/drops/flushes); Total output drops: 7 Queueing strategy: Per VC Queueing

This is the ATM Interface when it was up.

Note: I have noticed that when i plug the line into the card, the CD LED start blinking and then stop. When the LED stop blinking the interface is up. For 3 second, the CD LED start blinking again and then the atm interface is down.

Any possible solution to fix this problem?

Re: ATM Interface Up and Down

Could you also post the output of debug atm errrors command ?

Router#terminal monitor

Router#debug atm event

Im just wondering if CD stands for Carrier Detect and a blinking CD means no carrier.

That being the case, physically unplug the ADSL Cable (RJ-11) from the Cisco ADSL WIC ADSL interface. Wait for a few seconds. Plug the cable back in to cause the ADSL line to retrain.

Re: ATM Interface Up and Down

Hi Arvind,

Sorry for late reply.

Please find the attached file to get the atm debug.

Please give me any advice on this.
