Dear Sir,

we are facing problem with redundancy for our two internet links, We have 1hsdl card installed on cisco 2811 router and create bvi interfaces for connectivity, while tesing with ISP we had made below obervation:-

when I am shutting the bvi1 interface my other link is taking load but

when I am shutting the atm interface then other link is not taking load

We observed that when I am removing the cable from bvi interface or shutting the atm interface then atm interface of their side is not showing down.

they had configured the straight route on there router that means when we shut the atm interface at our router at that time their atm interface is not showing down so router choosing both route.

If we get the solution that if we are shutting atm interface at our end their atm interface should be down then this problem will resolve.

As always when reporting problems, include configuration.

hi

please find the attachment here

You have not configured the necessary "tracking" to reveal when one circuit is down. See:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk648/tk361/technologies_configuration_example09186a00808d2b72.shtml

Note, you can use "atm route-bridged" and configure IP directly on the sub-interface, eliminating the BVI altogether.
