(ATM0/0): CRC error in rcvPakFrame on Cisco 1751

Hi,

We are encountering several CRC error on the ATM interface of a Cisco 1751. It has been some weeks that this situation bring our ipsec tunnel to go up and down and force us to often reload the device to get the service back.

Could you advice me how i can fix the problem ?

Here is some show command results :

Re: (ATM0/0): CRC error in rcvPakFrame on Cisco 1751

Hello Mathieu,

there are CRC errors but in 20 minutes they are 29 and you have received 19000 packets.

Unless these errors come in bursts (many in a row)  they shouldn't be able to turn down the IPSec session.

the current DSL line parameters are good with 20 DB of noise margin. There are no reed salomon errors.

On a line always there are some errors  the problem starts if they are able to affect traffic.

From current statistics it is unlike they can cause issues just a slight performance reduction.

The scenario probably was far worse in the past hours.

I would ask to the DSL provider a check of the line.

Hope to help

Re: (ATM0/0): CRC error in rcvPakFrame on Cisco 1751

Hi giuslar,

The CRC errors are light but for the moment, the tunnel is up. I will check next time the tunnel goes down if the CRC are increasing but it seems to be the only errors encountering in the vpn router.

I will get in touch with the provider. Thanks !
