authentication list "default" is not defined for PPP

Hi everybody,

We use 3640 and have configured adsl on it.

When "ppp authen chap" is typed, we got the following message

AAA: Warning, authentication list "default" is not defined for PPP.

atm inteface changed to up when the cable is plugged but we cannot get ip address.

This is the way the router tells you that he has no method to authenticate users.

Enter something like:

aaa new-model

aaa authentication ppp default local

This will allow the local database to be used for authentication. You can add users to this database with the "username" command.

When you have an aaa server, replace "local" with the keywords radius / tacacs.
