Automatic Failover..

We have a client that has 1841's at all there sites connecting back to our core via FE - We currently run rip over these links so the CE's can advertise there LAN subnets to our PE's(For VRF). This works well, but now the client wants to implement redundancy into there network by introducing an SHDSL connection at each site(SHDSL is L2(Terminating on the 1841's) - No auth is required, so we simply see it as an ATM subint on the PE) - I could also run rip for these secondary links, but I am worried about rips convergence time....Is TE an option(With FRR), or is that overkill for a client who would be satisfied with sub 5 seconds failover..

Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Why not use OSPF cause it has lower convergence time? Moreover, what you can do is to continue use RIP however modify the hold down timer of the RIP and this solves the convergence time.

Please rate if I could help,

Thanks,
