Back to Back Router for WAN simulation

Hi Guys!

I want to setup back to back router for WAN simulation using two cisco routers. As of now, i know the basic on how to set it up. But my question is, how can i limit or change the bandwidth. Like if i want to have 64k connection, or to have 128k connection etc. How can this be done? Does the clock rate command affects the bandwidth? or is there any configuration needed to achive this? Please help coz I want to simulate on how much bandwidth our new application needs. Your help is much appreciated.

Re: Back to Back Router for WAN simulation

Chester,

When I am in the lab - tinkering with bandwidth I generally do two things:-

1) Create a Frame-Relay back to back network with two routers.

2) Use traffic shapping policy maps - I find this is a really clear indication of bursty/bandwidth hungry applications/traffic etc.

Below are two links I have used in the past for the above:-

HTH.
