bandwith limitation per flow ?

hi,

i have a central router (7206) which is connected over ethernet to a central server which does software-distribution.

this 7206 is connected to a ip cloud to 200 branchrouter.

this softwaredistribution should only get 128kb/s per destinaton - althoug the branches are connected over 768 links.

so my idea was to install a policy in the central router - but i don´t want to make a policy with 200 class-map entries

for the 200 branches.

is there a possibility to tell the router that it should give 128kb/s per every flow ??

Re: bandwith limitation per flow ?

Hi,

I'm afraid that there is no easy way to do so. To shape/queue traffic for 200 different 'flows', you need 200 different queues and the only way to create 200 queues with deterministic behaviour is to use 200 class-maps - one for each 'flow'.

You could try to just enabling WFQ - that will allow yuu to give fair treatment to each flow but you cannot associate a bandwidth with the flow.

Pls do remember to rate posts.
