Best path selection for EIGRP

Hi Sarabjeet,

the cost calculation for EIGRP would also include the delay as well, If you are using a different media then the cost would vary due to the :"delay" component in the cost calculation, however if you are using the same media and the same cost then it should load balance.

Thanks

Thanks Mir for your response, I am using the same media, by defult on 4 routes will be loadbalnced  and i will learn route s from 4 routers  on R1, so what will be creitiera thet it will select which 4 routers, if all parameters are same..

It will load balance if the cost are the same all the 4 paths would be seen in the RIB. However. the actual traffic would be forwared based on the per-destination. Like if you have a single destination route it would not load balance the traffic to the same destination over the 4 links, it would use only a single link based on which CEF decides as oer per-destination load balancing.

Agree Mir with You, If i see Topology table on R1 it will show me all 5 paths to R 7 and in routing table it will take 4 paths out of 5 path . what will be cretireia that R1 routing table will take these four path in routing table or 4 routes .
