I wanted to know whether bfd has some sort of mechanism built-in that causes spf calculation to occur right away in case of failure detection. It does seem to have but I am not 100% sure. I have observed that the ospf calculation does not wait for 5 seconds start time. Is there any documentation to validate or anyone had experienced with it?
It might be just an IOS that supports BFD also supports OSPF Link-State Advertisement (LSA) Throttling which, I believe, no longer defaults to a 5 second start delay.
