BGP advertise of static routes local

Received ticket for static route (10.12.0.0/19 with a next hop of 10.12.0.1/32) there is a redistribute static under BGP process. Applied static route check to see if route was advertising with ip bgp neighbor advertise-routes command didn't see (10.12.0.0/19 route. Change the next hop IP to the MPLS default gateway check with ip neighbor advertise-route, routes are advertising, checked several remote sites and core router I see 10.12.0.0/19 route. The user states he can't see the route local. Any suggestions

Re: BGP advertise of static routes local

Are they iBGP or eBGP neighbors ?

The MPLS default gateway IP address must be reachable by those devices in order for that route to be installed on their routing table.

You see that behavior with iBGP as the next-hop information isn't change between neighbors while with eBGP the next-hop information reflects the router advertising the route. You can change the iBGP behavior by having a neighbor command with the next-hop-self option (neighbor 1.1.1.1 next-hop-self).
