Hi all,

I have two routers connected two ISP's for redundancy as if primary ISP fails traffic should come through secondary ISP.

my questions are.

1.Is it mandatory to run IBGP between two routers and direct link between them.

2. is it safe to turn off synchronization

irrespective of link(direct/indirect) between two routers.

3.if we turn off synchronization what are other configuration required?

Regards,

Rajesh

Hello Rajesh,

Using IBGP between these 2 routers is not a necessity. It depends on your scenario.

And the same is valid for synchronization. Its not needed in many scenarios. And, when disabled there's no other configuration required.

Again, this depends on other factors, like: are you redistributing BGP? are these 2 internal routers directly connected? are you a transit AS?

this reply is far from complete, but I hope it's a start.
