BGP override Connected route?

How can a bgp route override a connected route?

use of VRF in involved. I dont have much details on this,

but ISP team gave me a show ip route for his connected interface IP and got a route pointing to BGP?

Ive never seen this before.

Please let me know.

A couple of questions comes to mind?

1. Is the interface up or down. If it is down, then the connected route will not be in the routing table.

2. Are both routes of the same learnt? If the BGP route is more specific than the connected, then it will be preferred.

3. You mentioned VRF, ensure that both routes are in the same routing tables.

4. Any modification to AD for BGP?

1> interface was up and I could ping it.

2> no I could not see the connected route on the route table

3> this ISP didnt mention

4> No bgp was 20, I even changed it to 200 (using backdoor) and no good

Im suspecting of a hardware or softare bug on this 7206 router.

Any other suggestions?
