bgp route advertised

If I issue the command:

sh ip bgp neigh x.x.x.x advertised-routes

and I see that I am advertising a route to the neighbor ( my ISP ), under what circumstances would the route not be propagated throughout the Internet?

Re: bgp route advertised

It would be that either your ISP or one of its upstreams provider filter these routes out.

For instance, some ISPs filter out any prefix with a prefix length longer than /24 or class B prefixes with a prefix length longer than /20 or /21.

Hope this helps,
