We have been offered fibre to our business premeise by BT. Note this is fibre to the BT cabinet in their exhange and then exiisitng copper to work. We currenlty use ADSL lines from BT connect into a Cisco 1801 router. We use VPN in Cisco 1801 for secure remote connections.
BT would supply a new VDSL modem (openreach) and their Fibre Hub. Is it possible to connect the BT VDSL modem to the Cisco 1801? I presume this would be presented as a PPPoE connection to 1801. The Cisco would then need to make the connection by passing through BT username & password.
We would like to keep using our Cisco 1801 but of cource upgrade to the faster fibre broandband.
If the 1801 is not suitable then what would be a suitable replacement?
Very intertested to hear if others have installed BT broadband fibre.
thanks
Gareth

This link is to an aoount of a working config using BT's FTTC and an 877.
If it works for an 877 it should also do so on an 1801.
