cable issue

Hi,

I find that the length between far end LAN port to the core switch is over 100M. Can I use Cat 6 cable to overcome this issue? if not, any work around? e.g. put two or more switches in between?

BTW, the 100M limitation is end-to-end (from end user LAN port to the server). Is it correct?

How much over 100m? If not much, chances are will work anyway. But it would not a professional and certifiable installation.

So to play it safe, you will need to install a switch in between.

Hi,

the lenght of LAN cable should not be over 100M. does it meansure from end to end? (from work station to server). I have some confuse the 100M. what is the definition?

The total is 223M from PC to the server, 135M from PC to switch.

135m is too much. You need to place a switch in between.

Hi,

could you give me a link regarding the LAN 100M limitation?
