Re: calculating bandwidth for internet browsing

Hi,

a tricky one! I don't think there would be a strict answer to this. But the right approach is : what kind of traffic is going to the Internet ? Personal internet browsing traffic only, any VPN, extranet ?

But basically a 2xE1 should do.

Hope this helps!

Re: calculating bandwidth for internet browsing

It would depend on what type of Internet traffic your users are going to do. If just simple browsing then you can do with a T-1(E-1). If you have major users with applications that require major bandwidth, FTP, TFTP, remote restores, Even if they are going to allow streaming video or audio, you may want to consider more bandwidth. For the heavy access you may want to consider a T-3 (E-3).Hope this helps...

Re: calculating bandwidth for internet browsing

Without knowing any special requirements, I generally use 50Kbps per user as a starting point.

In your case... 50k X 75 = 3.75Mbps
