Can 3825 router support two NM-1T3/E3 module?

Hello,

Currently we have a 3825 router with one NM-1T3/E3 module connecting to one remote office. Another remote office will be opened soon and we would like to add a second DS3 card onto the router. I read the spec. on the 3825 and it shows a max of 2 NMs can be installed. But the spec. on the NM-1T3/E3 shows only onee NM can be put into the 3825 router. I am confused and really appreciate if someone can help. Thanks

Ray

There are a wide variety of NM's and the 3825 can take two network modules as long as two of a specific model are supported. The T3 module is one of the few where only one is supported. You will either need a second router or a bigger router that can handle two T3 network modules.

Hope it helps.

The 3825 will support only one T3/E3 module and even just one module will provide subrated throughput (full rate with no services but who runs a router with no services? )

You need a 3845 for one full DS3 support and a 7200 VXR for multiple DS3s.

Edison

Really appreciate the help from both of you. We will buy two new 3845s.
