Can be cef done unequal loadbalance?

Let's say

ip cef

**and**

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 s0 ---> 512k leaseline to ISP1

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 s0 ---> 1M leaseline to ISP2

What is cef can be done in this case?

TIA

Re: Can be cef done unequal loadbalance?

Hi,

I think you wrongly mentioned the two interfaces as same as s0

If you have two default route via two interfaces s0 and s1 , and both of them having unequal subscibed bandwidth from ISP's , by default will have per destination load balancing .And the 512 K link would be full and the destinations via 512k link will have problems.

You can do a per-packet load balancing , if load-sharing per-packet is mentioned in both the interfaces .

As per your question , Cef cannot do unequal loadbalancing .

Hope it helps

Re: Can be cef done unequal loadbalance?

Hi

ip cef is Cisco express forwarding , it is mainly use for faster switching the packet, It is faster than fast switch and also process switching,

As per your question, IP Cef no play any role in loadbalancing .
