We have to store about 100 remote site routers over the winter period. They are a mixture of 800 and 1700 routers.
We have concerns about them loosing their config as they will be powered off until the spring. Obviously this would cause us major problems if we had to drop the config again as they will stay at the remote site where there are no support staff. We support them remotely via telnet.
My understanding is that the config like the IOS image is stored in flash which is an EEPROM technology opposed to NVRAM which requires a power source.
Am I correct in thinking that the the routers can be powered off for several months without loosing their config?
