Cannot attach Service Policy at the ATM PVC level

The problem I am seeing is that I can not attach service policies at the atm pvc level when the virtual access interfaces are established, it is possible to apply the service policy if the parent ATM interface is shut down, but an error message is seen once the interface is re-enabled.

The software used is 12.4(22)T SP Services IOS on an 1861 router with DSL WIC. is this a bug or can this not be done ?

Hello Mayamba,

you probably need to configure under the pvc some ATM resources CBR or ABR or vbr-nrt otherwise the IOS doesn't see any bandwidth associated to the subinterface and the command fails.
