Re: cannot ping

yes i do have route...i did a traceroute from to and it stops at 6506 switch. I add a static route with vlan3 as my next hop and it works. Do I really need to add static routes on the switch? or can I just enable dynamic routing protocol (e.g. rip) on the switch? Pls. advice....thanks!

Re: cannot ping

From your post i understand u dont have route on core switch to the subnet to which host .65 is connected. So u nned to add a route.Running a protocol is entirely your choice.

Re: cannot ping

This may be a stupid question, but is the interface up?

Can you ping the IP from the switch connected to that interface?

Can you do a traceroute to the IP and see where it dies at, then on the router where the .19.65 address is at do a debug icmp trace and capture the icmp to see if there is any ack back?
