Cant see any command output - router hangs

Guys need help.

I have a switch and router at a location connected via MPLS circuit.

I am able to login to router and device successfully.

But moment I enter any command , i dont see any output and access to device hangs.

I have to again open a fresh telnet to device , but again same story.

Ping response to device are stable and no packet loss.

Please help.

Re: Cant see any command output - router hangs

If the router is under heavy load this can happen.

Console / telnet / ssh are lower priority processes than routing. IF the router is swamped, it will forego handling a terminal session in favor of moving network traffic.

Try getting in from the console, if that connection drops as well, then unplug one or more high-speed connections and see if you gain usable access.

If you still have problems with no real traffic through the router, then you probably have either a corrupt IOS, or a hardware problem.

Try it out and let us knw

Good Luck

Scott
