Catalyst 6500 Module ID

We have some 10/100/1000 modules that appear as a different model then should be when entering the show module command.

i.e. a WS-X6148V-GE-TX appears as WS-X6148-GE-TX.

Question. Is the model, type, serial number etc contained in the firmware?

We're positive that these modules have in-line power for voice.

Re: Catalyst 6500 Module ID

Hi Peter,

I think if you do the 'sh mod' you will see the inline power daughter card also under submodule status.

Can you post the complete "sh mod"

Re: Catalyst 6500 Module ID

My question was. Why is the letter "V" missing from the Model Name?
