change metric of one route in IS-IS

Hi!

How can I change metric of one static route on the router, that is propagated with IS-IS ("redistribute connected")? All routes are propagated with one metric, and this only route I want to be propagated with another? Should I use policy-map?

If so, then wich argument can I use in "match"? Maybe it's right to "mark" this route with tag?

Re: change metric of one route in IS-IS

Hi,

You need to use a route-map when redistributing static routes into ISIS to achieve this. For example, assuming that the route you want to change the metric for is 192.168.10.0/24, you could do the following:

router isis

redistribute static route-map StaticRedMap

!

route-map StaticRedMap permit 10

match ip address 10

set metric 40

!

route-map StaticRedMap permit 20

!

access-list 10 permit 192.168.10.0 0.0.0.255

The above will result in 192.168.10.0/24 getting a metric of 40.

Hope that helps - pls do rate the post if it does.

Re: change metric of one route in IS-IS

If I understand you right..then access-list is related to my route and not to IP of routers, that are receiving the updates.

So if I have route like this:

2.19.96.32/27 [1/0] via 2.19.143.162, FastEthernet3/0.677

then I need write in ACL:

access-list 10 permit 2.19.143.162 0.0.0.0

in order to propagate it with other metric?

or

access-list 10 permit 2.19.96.32 0.0.0.31

?? I guessing that the second version is correct..

and another question - how can I to add this route map to existing, because my redistribute already have another route-map..

The second version is what is correct.
