Changing the default gateway

I need to change the default gateway on a router that already has it set. How can you change the default gateway. Any help will be appreciated.

Use the command in global configuration

to remove ur existing defualt gateway

When ip routing is enabled on the Cisco router

router(config)#no ip default-network x.x.x.x

and add this command

router(config)#ip default-network x.x.x.x

and

when ip routing is disabled on the Cisco router.

use this commands

Re: Changing the default gateway

The default gateway is usually represented with the command

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 [default gateway ip]

However, the default gateway can also be injected from remote routers by using dynamic routing protocols.

If you post the output from typing

#show ip route 0.0.0.0

we can help you better.
