Cicso 871 basic Router configuration

Hello All,

This is a real rookie question but I have tried configuring my 871 router via the CLI and for some reason it does not work. what are the basic commands that I need to get this router working?

I configured the IP address, subnetmask, default route and nat but still nothing. Any suggestions?

If you are not very familier to CLI, I would recommend to use the Cisco Express SDM WIzard to configure it

I think the SDM is not all what it could be and there is a lot of overhead I think. I have configured the router via the CLI line and everything is working now. Thanks for your suggestion.
