Hi from Spain,
Workin' escenario:
I have an old 1605 router, purchased by other person 4 years ago, and I discovered it some days ago, and I want to test some routing configurations. It's about the instalation I'll have to do in a customer, and if I can install this one ... better than ever.
So the problem is simple. The 1605 does have to do the routing between LANs one with 128.1.1.x/24 and the other 192.168.3.x/24, two subnets in the same location. No posibility to change the IPs of one of these.
So I defined the E0 and E1 each one with the IP but when I want to route them, surprise....
No ip routing command.
I intended broadcasting, etc, but ... no way.
So, can you help me with some wise advices or configurations examples.
Do I have to change the IOS? IOS version 12.0 (3).????????
I'll be also glad to answer to your questions, if you'll have, about this case.
So... best regards from Spain.

Hi
I think , you need to enable ip routing in you router.
" ip routing "
Mostly i is enable by default, but you can check in your config , it will show you in start of your config.
few more question
1) are you able to get route for directly connected inferface.
2) check interface, any of the inface is shutdown?
i hope this will help you out, please rate if help you.

As several of the posts have pointed out the original post was kind of ambiguous about whether ip routing is enabled or is disabled. ip routing is essential to route between subnets.
The IOS that was indicated 12.0(3) should be ok for doing routing between subnets. It might be helpful to know what feature set it is.
A command that would be helpful in this discussion is show ip protocol.
