Cisco 1750 flash memory upgrade does it need rom upgrade?

I am trying to upgrade a 1750 from 8MB flash to 16 MB flash but the router only sees 8MB flash and gives the error message bad magic number (same error if the flash is broken or not formatted).

Is there an rom upgrade that may solve this or is it more likely that the flashmemory is broken?

Please paste the screen capture of the error and the "sh flash" result. Moreover, is the flash partitioned to two partitions ?
