I am confused about this post. You begin by saying:"trying to fix a cisco 1760 router which works with only c1700-y-mz.123-16.bin and not with any other images". But the show tech that you attach is clearly a 1760 running a different IOS version:

System image file is "flash:c1700-k9o3sy7-mz.123-23.bin. So what is going on?

Part of what you post is a router attempting to boot and having an error. It decompresses the image and detects that the checksum is invalid. The invalid checksum is frequently the result of an error in attempting to copy the image into flash. I would suggest that you delete that image that is causing problems and attempt a new copy of the image file.

Hi Rick,

Thanks for the response. We tried

1. deleting the files in the flash using erase

2. then using tftpdnld -r get the image on to the router and fire it up.

3. now copy the actual image which we want to run on the router to the flash and reload.

then it fails. it works with only one image. we cant think of any other options here. any luck is greatly appreciated.

thanks
