I am considering the Cisco 1800 series routers for my branch offices. Presently, there are Adtran Netvanta 3305 units in place. The primary reason for considering replacing them is the lack of traffic shaping features to rate limit non-critical traffic related to user activity on the network creating issues with VOIP extensions on the network.
Is the 1800 series going to be able to provide traffic shaping features to rate limit traffic in this manner, at the gateway level for incoming packets, as well as QOS for outgoing?
Does it have the ability to perform out-of-order vpn packet processing to carry voice across a corporate vpn used for other data?
