Cisco 2960 as NTP server and client

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can advise, as I am new to Cisco.

I have been asked to setup a Cicso 2960 as both an NTP Client and an NTP server.

This is so that it will be able to get it's NTP updates from a Windows server, and will also act as an NTP server itself to enable other switches and firewalls to get their updates from it.

I have found some information about setting it up as a client, but any verification on how to this this would be appreciated.

Also I can't find any info on setting it up as an NTP server. Is it possible to do this?

Many Thanks in advance

Nicola

Just out of interest, do you know if there are any Cisco switches that can be configured as NTP servers ?

I wouldn't configure Cisco appliance as an authoritative NTP server.

If you have Windows servers, you can configure them to be an authoritative NTP server.
