Cisco 3620 Telnet

We have a mpls setup with 6 locations.

I can telnet to all routers except for one. This setup has been in place for at least 5years. I was able to telnet to all of the routers until yesterday. There was no changes made to the infrastructure and now all of a sudden there is only on router that I can't telnet to. I receive the following error:

Could not open connection to the host, on port 23: Connect failed.

Why would this happen ?

Have you tried to reload it? When this happens to me with no explanation, and no changes, I reload and it generally fixes the issue. If you can't reload it during the day, schedule the reload at night.

If you can ping the router but unable to telnet it could be you are either out of available vty sessions on the router (look into implementing exec-timeout) or the telnet service has crashed.

Have someone at that location connect a laptop on the console port if you are unable to reboot the router.
