Cisco 3745 Fan Assembly

I just received a new fan assembly. Is it best practice to take the router down while changing out the fan or is it just swappable during regular use?

If you are referring to the fan assembly on the front (faceplate) it can be hot swapped. You will see events logged on the console when you remove the old one but it is fine.
