I'd like to know if the CD led on cisco 836 should be on if i connect the cisco to a normal adsl line (ADSL over PSTN), i know that cisco 836 can work only on an ADSLoISDN line but i don't know if the CD led should be on anyway.
the CD should only be lit when there is a signal received from a modem at the other end of the connection. Since that is not happening when connecting your 836 to a normal PSTN line, in theory, the CD LED should not be lit...
