Hello All,

Just a quick question for a cisco newbie.

I'm having trouble using a 867VAE-K9 to connect to the NBN in Australia.

Is it compatible?

Appreciate any help.

Regards,

Leonard

I'm having trouble using a 867VAE-K9 to connect to the NBN in Australia.

I've got NBN and I'm using an 881 and with Internode.

The NBN port directly connects to my GigabitEthernet port marked "WAN".

Bear in mind that the 860-series router is "rated" to push up to 12.80 Mbps (one-way traffic and no encryption).

Thanks Leo.

So based on this, and note that I'm new to the cisco versions/models, this should be the same for the 867VAE?

Mine doesn't work with the GigaBit port GE1 (WAN).

Regards,

Leonard

Leonard,

I'm not familiar with the 867 but does the router have a GigabitEthernet (yellow colour) and marked as "WAN"?

Hi Leo,

All the ports are yellow and the GigaBitEthernet1 is marked as WAN.

Regards,

Leonard

All the ports are yellow and the GigaBitEthernet1 is marked as WAN.

Then directly connect the NBN "box" directly to this port and pour all the ATM configuration into this port.

What speed is your DSL speed?

Doesn't work unfortunately.  NBN speed is 25mbps. not ADSL.

NBN speed is 25mbps

Cisco 860 is NOT designed to push that much WAN speed.

not ADSL.

Configuration is the same.  It's just moving to a different port on the router (and different cable).

Ok thank you.
