Cisco 871 and DYNDNS

Hello,

Sorry my English is very bad.

I configured my router 871 with DYNDNS.

But this message comes from dyndns.org

(The hostname, myhostname.dyndns.org, in account myaccount, has been blocked for abuse. This action has been taken due to the receipt of multiple updates originating from the same IP address.)

Which line manages this parameter in router ?

Thank you

OK I find the solution

Add this line

Router(DDNS-update-method)# interval maximum 28 0 0 0

That didnt work for me.

The WAN interface is getting its IP from DHCP and gets a renewal time of 3600 sec so every hour it sends a DHCP renew request to the DHCP server and executes the ddns update process even if the IP hasnt changed, which means that the IOS is not comparing the 'new' IP with the 'old' one and makes the updates blindly, thus breaking the policy of dyndns.org, and probably other dynamic dns providers.

The result: "Hostname Blocked Due To Abuse".

I've tried to play around with 'interval maximum' and 'interval minimum' values in config but couldnt see any change in this behaviour.

This happens with IOS release 12.4(11)T.
