Cisco 871, VLAN down ?

Hi all!

We have a problem with a cisco 871.

If all ports of the integrated switch have no link, the vlan gones down and it is not longer possible to access the lan-IP from the WAN. How can we force the VLAN up ?

Sorry, we are just new to this business ...

>config term

>int vlan1

>no autostate

gives:% Invalid input detected at '^' maker. (pointing to state)

Seams that the command "autostate" is not known.

Re: Cisco 871, VLAN down ?

You may have an old version of IOS firmware that doesn't support it.

I just tried it on an 871 I had lying around and it works fine for me running IOS v12.4(11)

Router(config)#int vlan 1

Router(config-if)#no autostate

Router(config-if)#exit

Router(config)#

*Jan 13 01:42:16.403: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Vlan1, changed state to up

Router(config)#exit

Current Version is 12.4(4)T7.

We are just waiting for our PICA-Access, then we'll donwload a newer version ...

Thanks !
