I own a cisco 876 I was using for an ADSL2+ over ISDN. Now, I'm switching to cable, meaning ethernet, not FTTH. I was wondering if I still could use this router for that, I mean, if I can configure one of the fast ethernet ports as a WAN port and use the other ports as LAN.
Thanks a lot. I'm not an expert in cisco technologies and I wasn't aware of SVI "virtual router interfaces" in switches. From the specs, the switch present in this router is a "managed switch". But is it L3 or L2 ? Can't find this info anywhere. From what I've read from your answer it needs to be a L3 switch for the SVI to work as I intend (wan port).
