Cisco ASR 1004 - Bridge-group command missing.

On the Cisco forums, an example is shown for how to  configure BVI and bridge-groups on an ASR1004 but the same command  (bridge-group) is not available under the interface on our ASR routers.  Can someone tell us why?  We are running version of code:

asr1000rp1-advipservicesk9.03.06.00.S.152-2.S.bin

From the CISCO FORUMS:

What should be the problem:

ASR learns mac  address. but it does not ping the devices. But if i assign the same ip to  phisical port, it works (PINGS..)

Cisco ASR 1004 - Bridge-group command missing.

Bridging is not supported on ASR1000. ASR can still accept the command but it will not take effect. The feature is not supported on this platform. You can alternatively use BDIs
