Currently detected faulty Power Supply Fan 3 on GSR 12000. However from the TNG monitoring system, it detected Power Supply Fan 4 as faulty. Attached is the screenshot capture where it shows that the Cisco MIB does not tally with CLI.

If a power supply on a GSR 12000 chassis is in an errDisable state in the output of the show power command, there are two different types of power supplies. These power supplies are in the same chassis and are not supported.

If a redundant power supply is installed without being connected to a power source, it can cause a faulty status to be displayed for the Supervisor or the power supply and cause the system status LED to be amber. This is not an indication of a power supply or hardware failure.

o resolve general power supply issues, perform these steps:

Determine if the show system command output shows the any of the power supplies status as faulty.

Inspect the power supplies. Make sure that there is power applied to both units.

Reseat the power supply.

Try a different circuit or swap power cords. If the status is still red, or the show system command shows a status of faulty, it is a power supply failure.

Remove and replace the power supply.
