Re: clear counter for controllers fa0/0 in c1841 router

HI Jay, [Pls Rate if HELPS]

Use "clear controller" EXEC command to reset the T1 or E1 Controller.

Clear controller {t1 | e1} Slot/Port

Clear controller {t1 | e1} number

t1 = specifies the T1 Controller

e1 = specified the e1 controller

Slot/Port = Backplane slot number or port number on the interface.

number = Network Interface Module Number, in the range of 0 through 2.

Hope I am Informative.

Pls Rate if HELPS

HI Jay, [Pls Rate if HELPS]

Sorry, i missed....Here follow the answers:

Use the clear interface fastethernet privileged EXEC command to reset the controller for a specified Fast Ethernet interface.

clear interface fastethernet number (Cisco 4500 and 4700 series routers)

clear interface fastethernet slot/port (Cisco 7200 and Cisco 7500 series routers)

clear interface fastethernet slot/port-adapter/port (Cisco 7500 series routers)

I think that clear counter < interface > already do that.

The counters not cleared are real-time counters, they increment as the traffic flows through the interface.

Sorry, controller-level counters cannot be cleared. Just use interface-level instead.

Re: clear counter for controllers fa0/0 in c1841 router

clear counters fasteth0/0 would work.

Attached is the output of one of the routers.

none of the commands worked.

so i think no commands for that..just only a reboot can clear!!

tks

Re: clear counter for controllers fa0/0 in c1841 router

HI Jay, [Pls RATE if HELPS]

Normally, with a "reboot" my requirement of "Buffer Failures" & "Memory Failures" value has cleared.

May be i was thinking during my first POST itself, but i am not sure whether "reboot" might help for clearing the values of the interface you specified.

Try once and keep us updated.
