Hi:

We have 2 T-1's from same ISP, 2 Routers with T-1 CSU/DSU's. Cisco PIX 506E is the LAN gateway. How can we do load balancing so the internet traffic is evenly distributed between these 2 T-1's ? We got te second T-1 due to lack of bandwidth for our web server.

The routers that we have are:

Cisco 2611 XM

Cisco 2524

Thanks

AD

You are going to have to discuss with your ISP what they will offer. There are many ways to do this and they may prefer one over the other.

The simplist solution is multilink PPP as indicated in the previous post. What he failed to mention is that you will need to move both lines to the same router. I do not think you can run multilink PPP over 2 routers.

The ISP also has to have both lines terminated on the same router. If they are terminated on different routers they will need to also change.

If you cannot get this changed or you have the 2 paths for redundancy you will need to use server based method. Most these use DNS and multiple IP addresses to solve this.
