configuring 7600-SIP-400 OC-12 POS SPA

I am doing OC-12 configuration on 7600 series router. Can someone tell what are the parameters I have to look for..Clock, Framing , Bandwidth etc? Probably there is coordination required with the provider. Any suggestions?? If someone has sample ocnfiguration it will be helpful!!

hi Edison,

I have a question. On the 7600 router on which we are installing the SIP-400 module and the SPA we do also have SUP-720-3B supervisor.

What is the function SIP-400 is performing which SUP-720 can't? I mean to say do we really need SIP-400?

Fawad,

The SIP-400 and the SPA allows you to do some tasks that you are unable to do with the Sup720 alone, for instance - hierarchal QoS.

PFC QoS (the one supplied in the 720) is quite limited.

describes the feature offered by the SIP. These features aren't available when running just the Sup720.
