Configuring a Frame-Relay CIR

Hi,

I'm currently a student in CCNP and in my troubleshooting class we have to configure a CIR of 256kb over a frame-relay link. The topology is a strandard triangular shaped 3-router mesh. 2 PVCs, the central router has a multipoint sub interface while the two others are P2P. this is what I configured:

map-class frame-relay CIRMAP

frame-relay cir in 256000

frame-relay cir out 256000

on the interface:

frame-relay map CIRMAP

then I use the command:

show frame-relay pvc X

Only half the usual output appears and nothing is mentionned relating to the CIR.

What am I doing wrong?

Re: Configuring a Frame-Relay CIR

You need to enable traffic-shaping.

On the hub's main interface enter the following command:

frame-relay traffic-shaping

and under the subinterface

frame-relay interface-dlci [dlci]

class CIRMAP.

Then, you can do the show frame-relay pvc X command.
