Configuring Gigabit Ethernet ports in a OSM-4OC3-POS-SI+ module

Hi,

I'm trying to configure one of the GE port of a OSM-4OC3-POS-SI+ module as a TRUNK port, and another one as ACCESS port in a Cat6503 but when I try to configure:

R-MAN-A(config-if)#switchport mode access

Command rejected: Gi2/2 not a switching port.

Do you know if these ports only can work as ROUTED ports? or maybe is it possible to configure them as TRUNK or ACCESS ports ?

Thanks a lot in advance

Re: Configuring Gigabit Ethernet ports in a OSM-4OC3-POS-SI+ mod

Try configuring it as a switchport first:

switch#sh run int g1/1

Building configuration...

Current configuration : 61 bytes

!

interface GigabitEthernet1/1

no ip address

shutdown

end

switch#conf t

Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.

switch(config)#int g1/1

switch(config-if)#switchport mode acc

Command rejected: Gi1/1 not a switching port.

switch(config-if)#switchport

switch(config-if)#switchport mode acc

switch(config-if)#

switch#
