Hi,
Imagine service provider tells me that I have to use G.703 (no support for V.35) interface type in order to get my site up and running.
Question 1:
From reading the document below (Table 2), my understanding is that
my existing E1/T1 cards like VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1 will not support G.703, correct?
From reading this document below, it seems I would need to buy new WIC's
model VWIC2-1MFT-G703 for example, right.
Question 2:
Is the physical interface for the G.703 and respective WIC interface a RJ-48?
Just want to confirm it is not RJ45C or BNC.
• Data-As a WIC for T1/fractional T1, and E1/fractional E1 applications. The 1- and 2- port E1 versions include models that support unframed G.703. To simplify remote management issues the T1 version integrates a fully managed data service unit/channel service unit (DSU/CSU) and the E1 version includes a fully managed DSU...."

Hi there,
You are right, regarding question 1.
These types of circuits require these G703 VWIC cards.
Only the following cards support them for the lower end platforms (28xx, 37xx, 38xx, etc):
VWIC2-1MFT-G703=
VWIC2-2MFT-G703=
Regarding question 2, yes, these VWIC cards do support RJ-48 pinout connectors.
Thanks,
Arun
