console logging

Hai is it possible to get the log for port coming up & down on cisco 4500 & 6500 series switches....If so whether it is possible to see via console logging or telnet logging...I want to get log for every thing....

On the 4500's you need the logging event link-status under your interfaces to get the logs for port up-down events

Once configured, you shoudl be able to see these logs on the console. If you are accessing the device using telnet, you need to enable terminal monitor for your session to see these logs

Anyone has solution to this.

I am having the same issue with system messages are not coming on the console. I have enbled console logging and loggong buffered is disabled.

Is there any special commands to be run on the SUP ?

Following commands should resolve it.

logging console

logging monitor

logging buffered 16384

logging event link-status

service timestamps log datetime localtime show-timezone msec

logging on
