Hello is the first time I will configure a Controller E1 for data. My router is a 3725 12.2(8r)T2.
My question is how shuold I have to configure this E1 controller to make it work properly?
Thanks

Hello,
check the link below for configuration details. Certain parameters have to match those of your provider. Here is a ´standard´ configuration:
Router>enable
Router# configure terminal
Router(config)#
Router(config)# controller e1 1/0
Router(config-controller)# description LINE
Router(config-controller)# framing crc4
Router(config-controller)# linecode hdb3
Router(config-controller)# no shutdown
Router(config)# exit
The line code and framing parameters might be different, either check with your provider which nes to use, or, if the above does not work, try the other options and see if your E1 comes up...

Hi
It all depends upon the interface card you use up in your router.
The new controller cards are felxible in such a way that u can use them for connecting both T1 and E1.
so u need to mention whether ur going to use that for E1 or T1 .
You can do that using card-type E1|T1 which is E1 here..
Once you key in that you will get the Controller interface details with the numbering as per the slots in which its installed in..
After that you need to consider the framing and the crc type which you can make use of there.
Also whether you are going to use that as a single unframed pipe of 2048Kbps or going to use that as a framed pipe .
Also whether you are going to have structural E1s from the main link since you got the option here with the card...
would suggst to check and use this links in getting the config done...
