We have a 4510 with two supervisors V modules, both with a memory card. In order to boot off that card, is the syntax:
"boot system slot0:xxx"
or is it
"boot system flash slot0:xxx"
thanks

boot system flash disk0:/
Hope that helps.

Hi Collin,
Are you sure its "disk0" and not "slot0" on a 4510 with IOS? Either way, you have to include the word "flash" .
thanks

A dir /all will tell you the exact file system. I have not seen 'slot' in a while, most now use disk (I believe it's dependent of the platform).

Here's a link with better information on slot vs disk.

Hi Collin,
The dir /all only returns the bootflash files, nothing in the slot0.
dir disk returns "unrecognized command", while dir slot0: returns the files on the memory card.
The document was only valid for 4500 using CAT OS, and we are using IOS.
But I think you've answered the major question, which is that I have to include "flash" in the boot system statement.
thanks
