Create a Loopback int on a 2950

I'm trying to create a loopback interface on a 2950. I'm simply typeing interface loopback 0 and it's not creating.

Am I missing something?

Thanks

Re: Create a Loopback int on a 2950

I am afraid you cannot create loopback interfaces on 2950 switches. It only supports the following interface types:

* Physical ports-switch ports

* VLANs-Interfaces

* Port-channels-EtherChannel of interfaces

Re: Create a Loopback int on a 2950

Just adding to sundar's point, why would you require a Loopback interface on the 2950? If its for out of band management then the best way to go head is with the Admin VLAN and IP Address assignment to that particular interface.

Hope that it helps.
